I have always been someone who loves anything and everything to do with sport and being physically active. Yoga been a consistent, and big part of my life over the past 20 years and continues to be today.
15 years ago, in a past life working with Qantas, I went running with my sisters dog, fell, and severely broke my elbow. It was a 12 month journey to full recovery. During this 12 months of office duties I started helping a friend with her personal training business. This entailed taking on her running groups and some core and strength classes. I really enjoyed the work I was doing, improving the health and wellness of others. I therefore went on and studied to get my Cert 3 and 4 in personal and group training. I continued to educate myself in this industry by completing my Pilates training, Yoga teacher training and Mindfulness meditation training. I juggled flying and my clients for a few years, then after my first born I left Qantas and continued on the health and wellness journey that I’m still on and loving today.
I have dabbled in most styles of yoga and pilates over the past 20 years, been on retreats and co-facilitated retreats. I have worked with athletes in different sports, school students corporate organisations and clients with special needs.
My mantra is, We only have one body so look after it and use it every way you can. By practicing yoga and pilates often, I have personally found my own body has been happier, stronger and healthier than it ever has been. The time on my mat allows me to feel centred, calm, yet invigorated and ready to take on most things. My hope is that those who join my classes can feel this same way.
Outside of the studio, I’m a wife, and a mum who loves to be on the go. If my family can keep up, we are camping, riding, bushwalking, at the beach, in the garden, at a winery, hanging out with friends, and ok, we chill on the couch with a movie occasionally.
