My firm belief is everything happens for a reason. The choices we make after the experience are what shapes our future.   Cheating death for the second time in my life in September 2007 I had emergency bowel surgery due to my bowel being strangled. After a long recovery, I returned to my stressful 60 plus hour job and lasted one day and quit. I’d had plenty of time to realize what was important in my life and working crazy hours was not one of them. I got another job part-time and thought I was in the best place ever.

Bikram Yoga came into my life just when I needed it the most yet did not know it.  Being a gym junkie for over 25 years my friend Keeley told me how much I would love this new sweaty yoga she had discovered.  So in August 2010, I took my first class.  Challenging is one way of putting it.  Determination took over and I returned the following day to take another class than another, that was it I was addicted.

My life then revolved around me attending classes at least 4 times a week.  The changes physically and mentally were amazing.  Without me being aware I found inner peace…..all of a sudden I had so much more patience, at home, on the road and at work.

In October 2011 I lost my job and luckily at the same time Jo was looking for a receptionist at the Joondalup studio. It was the best thing that ever happened.  Getting to know the teachers and students on a new level inspired me to take a leap of faith and attend teacher training in the Fall of 2012 in LA. Teacher Training was one of the most fulfilling and life-changing things I have ever done.

Now I have the best job in the world, encouraging students, sharing my love for yoga and its amazing benefits. I feel have found my place in the world… Namaste.
